Originally designed for the interior of an advertising office in Taipei, Long-D is a dual-time wall clock intended to allow users to read the times of twin time zones in a visually subtle style while maintaining a regular relationship with someone on the other side of the globe. The colour contrast of secondary clock hands have been delicately reduced to appear like a shadow on the interface acting as a conscious reminder of the distance between the user and their connections abroad. With a passing glance the user can quickly and easily attain the information from the clock. This piece is available in both square and circular versions in either white or charcoal grey. In today’s world the idea of a long distance relationship is not an alien concept and has now become common practice for those who work, study or travel abroad. The dual-time alarm clock is a product that clearly and effectively allows the user to read the time and be reminded of those they care about in another part of the world. The notion “You and Me” has been the driving force behind this design and is visually demonstrated with two different degrees of color contrast on the clock interfaces, giving people a clear sense of priority.The higher contrast interface represents “Me” as the idea of me is always clear in the user’s mind, while the lower contrast interface represents “You” acting as a constant reminder of the distance away from the user, this contrast allows the user to quickly and easily get the information they need with a passing glance of the clock. In addition to the visual elements of this design, the audio has also been taken in to consideration with each clock having its own unique alarm sound.

In collaboration with technology brand Oregon Scientific, designer has created a DECT 6.0 digital expandable cordless phone called OREFON. The phone’s polished orange finish and icons subtly embedded into keypads provide a great ambiance that lends style to the modern home. This second-generation product mirrors the simplicity trend seen in today’s popular consumer electronics. Also available with extra handsets, enable users to place extra handsets throughout the home with only one phone jack required.

Following the idea of my previous work – Hexis, the A4-size silicone piece brings together the convenience of a mouse pad and a resting place for tiny desktop accessories such as clips, erasers and pens in the form of an inwards sloping edge. This 3.7 cm wide corrugated secondary surface pulls accessories towards the carved slot much like a magnet. The form is modest and simple, allowing a seamless integration between the object, contemporary interior and architectural spaces. Colors available are platinum gray, charcoal gray and tangerine orange in a matte finish.

The silicone piece is multi-functional; bringing together the convenience of a coaster and a resting place for small utensils such as teaspoons and stir sticks in the form of an inwards sloping corner. This 3.6 cm wide secondary surface pulls utensils towards the carved slot much like a magnet. The form is modest and geometric, allowing a seamless integration between the design, contemporary interior styling and architectural spaces. Colours available are white and charcoal grey in a matte finish.
