Is there a warranty?

All LD 1.0 watches carries a warranty of two (2) years, starting from the date of purchase. Kitmen Keung will repair or replace, at its option, any part of the watch that proves to be defective in materials or workmanship under normal use. Original owner is required to provide a proof of purchase upon request.

-

What items are not covered under the warranty?

Normal wear and tear, battery, strap, damage to the case or crystal caused by mishandling, defect due to contact with water or moisture are not covered by the warranty.

-

What happens if the watch has stopped working?

In most cases the watch stopped is due to the battery. Note that batteries supplied with watches are installed at the factory and due to time spent in warehousing and shipping, may be partially run down by the time of sale. Batteries are therefore not covered by the warranty. For any other issues, contact us directly at customer@kitmenkeung.com.

-

Is the watch water resistant?

Each LD 1.0 timepiece is tested to resist 5 ATM of static pressure. However ATM rating is determined in a laboratory under perfect conditions, that is, at constant temperature with the watch immobile. ATM is assured at the time the watch is made and tested before it leaves the factory.

Note that the watch is not designed to be deliberately submerged under water, you should avoid wearing the watch whilst showering or swimming. It should also be noted that the water-resistance of a watch is not a permanent characteristic. Seals and Sealing capacity are subject to wear and tear, natural aging, abnormal heat and moisture, and sudden changes in temperature.

Gaskets and seals should be inspected and replaced by a specialist watch shop or repairer if needed to maintain full ATM performance. It is recommended to make an inspection each time the battery is replaced.

-

Is my leather strap waterproof?

Leather is a natural, porous material. You should therefore avoid allowing the leather strap to come into contact with water as it will significantly shorten its life-span.

-

How do I replace the batteries?

Please do not replace the battery yourself. Without proper tools, you may damage the watch. If your watch stops working you should take it to a specialist watch shop or professional watchmaker for battery replacement. Battery to be used is SR521SW (379).

-

How do I replace the strap?

The strap swapping is a simple procedure, as long as you have the right tool for it or alternatively, you can visit any local watch shop for their assistance. However before doing so, please make sure you have the correct dimension of the strap that will fit well with your Long Distance watch. The lug width of LD 1.0 is 20 mm. Feel free to contact us at customer@kitmenkeung.com if you have any doubts.

-

Can I purchase a strap from you separately?

The dedicated LD 1.0 leather strap is currently not available for purchase directly on our website. However we do carry a limited stock of that. If you require to purchase one please contact us at customer@kitmenkeung.com.

-

Can I play sports with the watch?

Even though only high quality materials are used, the watch must be handled with care. Avoid subjecting your watch to strong vibrations, sudden impacts and drops. These activities may have a negative influence on the timepieces movement and accuracy.

-

Are the IP/ PVD coatings scratch proof?

Hard and sharp surfaces or hardened materials may scratch the metal of the watch. If watches with IP or PVD coated surfaces are heavily scratched the natural steel material underneath may be revealed. During normal everyday use the coating will last for years.

-

Is the lens scratch proof?

The LD 1.0 watches are fitted with hardened mineral crystal lenses. This crystal has been hardened through a tempering process giving it increased strength and durability. However this type of crystal may scratch if reasonable care is not taken during everyday use. Mineral crystal lenses are susceptible to cracking if due care is not taken and the timepiece is dropped onto a hard surface from a sufficient height.
